Benagil is on the southern Algarve coast that has gained fame in recent years due to the amazing cave that formed there. However, there is much more to know in this picturesque village.

Situated along the Algarve coast between the tourist destinations of Praia do Carvoeiro and Armacao de Pera, Benagil has long been a favorite whether for sunbathing or exploring the fantastic rock formations.

Its fame is due mainly to the grotto located next to the beach. This cave appears in the top of the "destinations to see" all over the internet and thanks to the photos shared by the visitors, it has become a top of the things to see and visit.

Getting to the grotto has become easier over the years which have caused an increase in the number of boats that visit it, not only in Benagil but also in other areas of the Algarve.

Boat Trips in Benagil Tour Portimao:

Boats that take you to the Benagil Grotto can be directly from Benagil. However these walks are very popular especially during the summer, so it will be very difficult to book your tour. However, there are other options in which boats depart from other places like Armacao de Pera and Carvoeiro.

How to get to Benagil?
.

To get to Benagil by the EN125 go to Armacao de Pera, head towards Porches and then you will find arrows for several beaches between them Benagil.

Once in Benagil, apart from the cave, the main attraction is the beach which does not look very appealing due to its small size but the larger part of the beach lies behind the cliff on the right side.

When you approach the beach there are always many boats and on your right side, there is a small snack bar.

Due to the rocks, the sea in this area can be a little hectic so when you enter the sea you should do so with some caution.

It is also important to pay attention and not to place in the place of passage of the boats because these are always to enter and leave the water.
